You can modify your product settings by using the Products page in your Ordergroove Admin. You can select which products you want to sell as subscriptions, default to subscription on your product page, offer in Instant Upsell, and offer as a prepaid subscription. In this article we’ll go through everything in the Products page, and each of the options available to you.
What is the Products page?
The Products page located under Data > Products in your Ordergroove admin is the central location to modify what features are enabled for your products. You can configure products to sell as a subscription here, add additional features, or bulk import product changes from a CSV spreadsheet.
Configuring Your Products
You can modify product features through the Products page in Ordergroove. They can be edited individually, or in bulk.
Note: All changes save automatically and go into effect immediately. Use caution when making changes and enabling features.
Edit individual products
- Open up Ordergroove, click Data, and select Products.
- All of the products in your store are listed here. You can scroll through the list, use the search bar, or filter for the product you want to modify.
- Once you locate the product, click # of 4 enabled over on the right and a dropdown will unroll.
- From here, you can toggle which features you want to apply. For a description of each, take a look at the Subscription Product Features section below.
Bulk edit products
- Click the checkbox next to each product you want to modify, or click the Products (#) checkbox on the top left if you want to modify every product on the page
- With all of the products you want to modify selected, click EDIT # PRODUCTS. A new dropdown will appear with a few options:
- Turn on Subscription Eligible: Allows customers to subscribe to your products.
- Turn on Instant Upsell: Allows customers to add these items to their upcoming deliveries
- Advanced Options: Toggle On or Off Subscription Eligible, Instant Upsell, Default To Subscription or Prepaid
Subscription Product Features
There are four main features you can toggle on the Products page. Take a look down below for a quick explanation on each, and a link for further reading.
Subscription Eligible
Activates the Enrollment widget on the product page in your storefront. This allows customers to sign up for recurring subscriptions.
Default to Subscription
When a customer loads your product page in the storefront, you can set it to automatically load with the subscription option selected. Take a look at Set Subscriptions As The Default Enrollment Option.
Instant Upsell
Give customers the ability to add products as a one-time purchase to upcoming deliveries. For more click on Instant Upsell.
Prepaid
Prepaid subscriptions are a type of subscription where a customer pays once upfront, then receives multiple shipments over a set time. Enabling Prepaid Subscriptions from start to finish has more information.
Product Details Page
You can view more details and enable additional, more advanced features for any product by clicking on the product’s row on the Products page.
From here, you can apply the same settings available on the main Product page, view any SKU Swap or Incentive groups, or turn on Advanced features.
The advanced features require you to export out a CSV spreadsheet, make modifications on the sheet, then import the file back into Ordergroove. To learn how to enable these features using the CSV spreadsheet, take a look at Configuring the Product Configuration File.
The advanced features include:
Discontinue a product
Discontinues a product and updates all associated subscriptions. Learn more here.
SKU Swap
A setting that allows customers to change their subscription product without canceling their subscription. Learn more here.
Buy X Subscribe Y
A setting that allows customers to buy an initial product such as a kit, but then subscribe to a different product such as a refill for the kit. Learn more here.
Product Specific Default Frequency
Set a specific default shipping frequency for this product. Learn more here.
Exporting or Importing a Configuration File
If you prefer to work out of a CSV spreadsheet instead of the in-product UI, you can export your store's configuration file using the Export button on the top right. You can also export a single product's configuration file by visiting the product's detail page.
This will download a CSV spreadsheet onto your local machine, where you can make any of the same adjustments mentioned in this guide. The export will include any filters you currently have in place.
