FAQ + Troubleshooting

  • What can I filter by?
    • Filters are exceptionally powerful and you can filter by any attribute stored within Ordergroove. Default filters on the trigger node include information related to that core ordergroove event. For example, if it is a subscription created trigger it will have subscription related info such as start date, product, location, and frequency.
    • If you do not see the filter you want you can always add a 'lookup' step and create a filter following the lookup step. For example 'Look up a customer' and then add a filter step for 'Customer created' after XX date.
  • Can I filter or segment by custom data?
    • Yes, if you pass this content into Ordergroove via Subscription Extra Data, Customer Extra Data, or Order Extra data.
  • Which order does an order-count trigger affect?
    • A trigger is the event that kicks off a workflow, so any actions will impact the next order. A trigger set to order 3 fires when order 3 is placed and applies its action to order 4. For recurring-order use cases the minimum value is 2; a value of 0 never fires.
  • How do I target the first recurring order?
    • Use the Subscription created or Subscriber created trigger. The action then lands on the first recurring order after checkout.
  • When does a workflow discount apply?
    • To the customer's next upcoming order. Workflow discounts don't apply at checkout.
  • Do workflow discounts stack with my subscriber discount or other incentives?
    • Yes, by default they stack. To avoid stacking, customize the one-time incentive workflow action to a specific upcoming order instead.
  • How does a free gift (GWP) get added?
    • The gift is added to the customer's next upcoming order as a $0 item on the order, so customers can see it upcoming in the Subscription Manager and all relevant emails such as Order Reminder.
  • What happens if the gift is out of stock?
    • The order still places without the gift. A gift never ships on its own if every other item on the order is out of stock. Moving the gift to a later order isn't supported yet.
