Okta

Okta is an identity and access management platform that helps companies manage and secure user authentication into applications.

In this guide we'll cover supported features, how to setup the connection between Okta and Ordergroove, and using the two platforms together.

Supported Features

Ordergroove supports a Service Provider-Initiated Authentication (SP-SSO) Flow: this authentication flow occurs when the user attempts to log in to the application from Ordergroove.

Limitations

User Federation, role management, etc. are not supported.

❗ Caution

If a user was already created in the Ordergroove portal with a given email, logging in through Okta with that email will not work. The user will not be granted access and will be required to use their original username/password credentials.

Ordergroove does not automatically migrate existing users to new authentication flows. Please reach out to Ordergroove support if you need an existing user to be migrated.

Requirements

Before you get started, you must have access to:

  • Admin access to an Okta org
  • Existing Ordergroove merchant account. If you do not have an existing Ordergroove merchant account, please contact support for assistance.

Configuration Steps

1. Add Ordergroove to your Okta Account

Log in to your Okta account. Go to Applications > Browse App Catalog. Search for and add Ordergroove.

 

2. Assign Users

Assign the users or groups that should be able to log into Ordergroove.

 

3. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret

Stay in Okta, go to the Ordergroove App > Sign On tab. Make note of the Client ID and Client Secret - you'll need both in a moment.

4. Contact Support

Contact Ordergroove support with the following information:

  • Okta Domain (looks like acme.okta.com)
  • Client ID
  • Client Secret
  • The name of the merchant account that you want to use with Okta SSO

We'll let you know when the Okta SSO has been set up with your merchant account

Logging into Ordergroove Using Okta

Once Okta SSO is configured, Ordergroove merchant account users can login as follows:

  1. Go to the Ordergroove Login Page: https://rc3.ordergroove.com 
  2. Click the Okta Icon.
  3. Enter your Okta Domain in the input field and click Submit.
  4. You will be redirected to Okta to complete the SSO login, before returning to the Ordergroove website.
