Offer Profiles determine which discounts and incentives Ordergroove applies to your subscribers' recurring orders. In this article, you'll learn how Offer Profiles work, how they relate to your product catalog, and how to manage subscriptions across multiple profiles.
What is an Offer Profile?
When a customer checks out with a subscription order, that subscription is automatically enrolled into and associated with an active Offer Profile.
An Offer Profile contains the discounts, incentives, and conditions that tell Ordergroove how to apply recurring promotions for your subscription program.
Each Offer Profile operates independently, so the discounts, incentives, and conditions on one profile don't interfere with another.
Note: Only one Offer Profile can be active and accepting new enrollments at any given time.
How Offer Profiles Work
Each Offer Profile is assigned a unique coupon code. Using that coupon, Ordergroove applies the appropriate incentives to subscription orders. Like a coupon you'd use at a store, it contains all the relevant information - without it, the Offer Profile wouldn't function.
Offer Profiles can include combinations of:
- Program-wide incentives
- Product-specific incentives
- Nth order/milestone incentives
- Shipping-based incentives
- And more
For each subscription in an order, Ordergroove evaluates all conditions to determine which incentives apply based on the Offer Profile's configuration.
Offer Profiles and Product Groups
Your Product Feed tells Ordergroove what products are available, while your Offer Profile tells Ordergroove what discounts and incentives to apply to those products.
Offer Profile FAQs
Can a single customer belong to different Offer Profiles?
Yes. Because subscriptions are enrolled based on when they were created, a customer can have multiple subscriptions on different profiles.
Example: A customer subscribes to coffee in July (Standard Profile). In November, they subscribe to creamer during a Black Friday sale (BFCM Profile). They now have two subscriptions following two different sets of logic.
Do multiple Offer Profiles interfere with each other?
No. Each Offer Profile stands alone. This allows you to run limited-time promotions (like BFCM) for new enrollees without changing the pricing for your loyal, existing subscribers.
What happens if a customer cancels and then reactivates?
When a subscription is cancelled, it is effectively "frozen" in time. If the customer reactivates that specific subscription later, it remains in the original Offer Profile it was assigned to at the time of cancellation.
Note on Streaks: The order count also resumes where it left off. If they cancelled after 4 orders, their reactivation order counts as order number 5.
Can I move a subscription to a different Offer Profile?
Yes. If you need to update a customer's pricing logic, the OG Customer page or Ordergroove Support team can manually move a subscription to a different profile.
How do I check which Offer Profile is currently enrolling?
You can view which Offer Profile is currently open for enrollment by going to Ordergroove > Subscriptions > Flex Incentives. The active Offer Profile is listed under Enrolling.
