In some instances, a customer might need help managing their subscription but isn't able to use the Subscription Manager themselves. In that case, we recommend using our Login On Behalf feature.
There are some steps to enable this feature, but once you have, you will be able to log in as a customer and manage their subscription for them.
⚠️ Platform
This feature relies on Shopify's Multipass feature, which is only available to Shopify Plus merchants.
Setting Up Login On Behalf Of
To begin, go to your Shopify store's Settings and then click on Customer accounts. Scroll to the bottom and you'll see a section like the one below where you can Turn on Multipass login.
Once you enable it, you'll get a secret key. Copy this key as we'll need to paste this into the Ordergroove Subscriptions app.
Finally, open up Ordergroove go to Settings > Shopify Integration. At the bottom of the page click Advanced Shopify integration settings to open up your Shopify store.
Once there, scroll to the bottom and click "Advanced Settings." Next to Login-on-behalf-of-setup, paste the secret key into the Ordergroove app.
Using this Feature
In order to log in as a customer, you'll need to first find the customer on your Shopify store. Once you do, click on More Actions in the top right corner and click on Ordergroove Login On Behalf Of.
In some cases, Shopify might redirect you to our app. If it does, go back to the customer and then try again. This is because Shopify first checks to see if you are allowed to use our app and then it lets you view the customer. If you are not able to see your store's apps, then you will not be able to use this function.
Once Shopify and our app are able to verify your permissions and access, you'll be taken to the customer's account page. From there you can click on Manage My Subscriptions and then go to the Subscription Manager, where you'll be able to manage the customer's subscriptions as if you were them.
