Information to Consider Prior to Migration

Program Configuration Differences

Depending on how your previous program was set up, your migrated subscriptions may act differently. Take some time in advance to consider the following and better understand how you'll configure your program and migrated data to get the best fit for your company.

  • Shipping Costs
    Ordergroove supports flat shipping rates by country and/or a free shipping incentive with a threshold. The shipping cost paid when the subscriber initially subscribed will not be considered. We do not currently integrate with Shopify's dynamic shipping calculations.

  • Recurring Incentives
    Our standard recurring incentives are a dollar- or percentage-off of the subscription item. The incentive for individual subscriptions or customers can not be set to different than the single program-wide recurring incentive using standard functionality. If you need more advanced incentive options, please contact your Ordergroove support representative.

  • Coupons
    Ordergroove does not currently have support for migrating discounts set by coupons.

  • Subscription Pricing
    Ordergroove's default pricing functionality picks the subscription base price based on what has been the lowest price for that product over the past X days (which can be set in Ordergroove). If you would like the subscription to consider the price of the product on the day the subscription was created, please contact your Ordergroove support representative. 

  • ReCharge:
    • Pricing: By default, ReCharge locks subscribers into the base price of the product from the day they subscribed unless you've manually updated it. This is not Ordergroove's default pricing functionality. Ordergroove will use the best price from a rolling window set here.
    • Incentives: ReCharge may have bundled your recurring discounts into the subscription's base price. Please check your data. If true click here for options.
    • Coupons: Ordergroove does not migrate any discounts set on subscriptions or orders by coupons.

Required Fields

  • Do your subscription field requirements set in Ordergroove match the data you're importing? 

    • If in your Ordergroove settings, you are requiring certain data for subscriptions that are not present in the subscriptions you're migrating, you may experience errors during the migration. In this case, you may also have issues with order placement further on in your commerce process. 
    • The most common issues are with phone numbers and payment card display data.
    • Do not change the required fields after the import has already been imported. Any subscriptions that do not meet these criteria may encounter errors.

  • Do your e-commerce checkout form requirements match the data you're importing?

    • If in your e-commerce platform you are requiring fields that are not present in the subscriptions you're migrating, you may experience errors during the migration. In this case, you may also have issues with order placement further on in your commerce process. 
    • The most common issue is that the phone field is set to required but does not exist in some cases in your data set.

  • Do your checkout form requirements set in Shopify match the data you're importing?

    • The most common issue is that the Shipping address phone number is set to required but does not exist in some cases in your data set.
