How To Properly QA Your Emails

Email QA/UAT Overview

Once you have styled and configured your email templates, it is strongly encouraged that you test the templates for accuracy and functionality. Within Ordergroove, you can send test emails by navigating to Experiences > Subscription > Email and clicking ‘Send Test’ at the bottom of the page.

A modal will pop up where you can enter an email address to receive the test email template.

If the email is successfully sent, an info message in a blue box will appear in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, notifying you the email was successfully sent. A test email can take up to a minute to be received by the recipient.

Things To Note:

  • The test email greeting will be addressed to the owner of the Ordergroove account.
  • If raw HTML is visible in your email, check your template and tags in the Ordergroove Admin.
  • The products and subscription info will be generic placeholders.

Haven't Received Your Test Email?

  • Check your spam folder.
  • You may be using the wrong tag for that email type (Check the full list of Configurable Dynamic Tags per email type).
  • You may have put the tag in between HTML elements (i.e. </div>{{#items}}<p>text..</p>) - all tags should be contained inside HTML elements!

We recommended testing with different email providers such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL, and Outlook, if possible. Each provider should also be tested on mobile to ensure formatting and links are correct.
