Recharge Migration Requirements

Ordergroove needs additional information to begin a migration process from Recharge. The amount of information and additional complexities can vary depending on the data available, in this article we'll go over an overview of the most common requirements.

Standard Requirements

All migrations require the following:

  • A Recharge API Key with a version of 2021-11 or higher.
    • If your API key does not meet this requirement, you must contact Recharge to move your account over to the new API key.
  • We need 1-3 staff accounts with subscriptions on Recharge for testing. These accounts cannot exist in Ordergroove yet.
  • The Product IDs of the subscribed items in Recharge need to exist in Shopify.

Payment Methods

Due to Shopify limitations with their Subscription API, Ordergroove can only pull in payment tokens from support payment gateways.

You can use the following payment methods for a Recharge to Shopify migration:

  • Braintree
  • Stripe
  • Shopify Payments
  • Auth.net

With the exception of Auth.net, Shopify always transitions subscription payment methods over to Shopify Payments. You need to set your payment gateway as Shopify Payments. If you are not using Shopify Payments in Recharge, assign your current subscription payment method as a legacy subscription gateway.

Additional Braintree Requirement

Ordergroove needs additional information to complete a migration with a Braintree payment gateway. Include the following details:

  • Merchant ID
  • Private API Key
  • Public API Key

Additional Auth.net Requirements

Let your solutions consultant know you are using Auth.net to set up a migration plan. Before you can migrate over Auth.net, you need to reach out to Recharge for assistance in migrating data from Spreedly to Auth.net.
